3-Stage Filtration Process

The UC-200 employs a three-stage filtration process, utilizing micro-sediment membranes, KDF-55, and coconut shell carbon. This process effectively removes impurities without reducing the health-beneficial mineral content in the water. The UC-200 is specifically designed to purify water without lowering TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) or PPM (Parts Per Million) type meter readings. For TDS or PPM reduction, a reverse osmosis system is required.

Bacteriostatic

Unlike carbon-only filters, the UC-200 is bacteriostatic, making it resistant to mold or bacterial growth. To confirm the filter is still working, use DPD#1 chlorine test strips. Replace the UC-200 when chlorine is detected in the filtered water. For the earliest possible detection, sensitive test strips that test at 0.25 or 0.5ppm are ideal.

No Water Softening

It is important to note that the UC-200 does not soften water. It does not address issues caused by excessively hard water, such as lime scale or mineral deposits on tea kettles.
